Aesthetics for Design

Year : 2023 An experimental series that evolved from pencil frottage and hand-drawn ideation sketches into a dimensional concert poster using Adobe Illustrator. The journey continued with Adobe Photoshop, incorporating object integration, graphic and pattern design, and texture layering to CMYK color matching.

Discovering interesting textures and patterns .

Poster Sketch 01

Beach surfing concept background , a play on the word "wave" and adding a stereo with music notes to emphasize the excitement of a music festival . As for typography , I went with a bubble font as it linked with the concept of water .

4 versions : These are the alternate designs mainly focusing on the main idea of a stereo emitting rhythmic waves during the music festival .

These two sketches were more typography based with lesser focus on illustrations . The idea was to make it an admission ticket to the festival .

These two sketches was mainly just exploration if using patterns and sizing of text .

This piece made the secondary title "First Wave" stood out but did not outshine the Main title "Music Wave Fest" and the illustrations and background blended well.
